Haunted House Book Club Info (continuously updated)
The book club consists of: a monthly post about each book to spark discussion (first Sundays); a chat thread for each book (also first Sundays); and a live video with a guest (sometimes the author) scheduled toward the last week of each month, where you can ask questions via chat. Chat threads and live video access are available only to subscribers of this substack. The good news is: it’s free!

Welcome to Colonialtown
Aside from the Haunted House Book Club, here you’ll find photos and writing at the intersection of Florida, history, the gothic, colonialism, whiteness, visual art, and literature. Dispatched once or twice monthly from my physical and metaphorical location in Colonialtown.

About me.
I’m the author of Nextdoor in Colonialtown, a text-image artist book that pairs photos of my neighborhood in Orlando, FL (actually called Colonialtown) and remixed comments from the area’s Nextdoor dot com threads; and a novella called Lizard People, about a man who thinks he’s a lizard person but is really only white. Also, I’ve run the Florida-based small press, Burrow Press, since 2010.
